Diet
As with any
specific topic in the weight loss industry bodybuilding has
many recommended variances in techniques and strategies. Today
I would like to discuss the key factors surrounding the low
carb bodybuilding diet. 3 Popular main stream low carb diets
are:

The Carbohydrate Addicts Lifespan Program |

The most common problem with a
low carb bodybuilding diet is the level of saturated fats and
the excessive consumption of red meats. Diets that are high in
saturated fats may lead to illnesses such as heart disease or
cancer. If the dieter chooses to adopt healthy fats then
remarkable results maybe seen. At this stage in time it is
really too early to see the side effects of choosing a low carb
bodybuilding diet.
This type of diet does have it
benefits though. It can encourage you to avoid a larger range
of bad carbohydrate foods such as:
 |
Cakes |
 |
Biscuits |
 |
Chocolate |
 |
Milk |
 |
Crackers |
 |
White Bread |
 |
White Rice |
 |
White Sugar |
 |
White Flour |
These foods can cause rises in
your blood sugar levels along with cravings for similar items.
Which are not considered to be good foods for any
bodybuilding diet whether it is low carb or not. There are some
foods which are lower in carbohydrates that are considered to
be better for you such as:
 |
Fresh green leafy vegetables |
 |
Low sugar fruits ie blueberries and
raspberries |
 |
Low carb meal replacement bars and drinks |
 |
Cauliflower |
 |
Peppers |
 |
Mushrooms |
 |
Rhubarb |
If you are diabetic low
carbohydrate foods for a bodybuilding diet will be much
healthier for you because they keep your blood sugar levels
consistent. Basically you could start by replacing white based
products like white sugar, bread, flour, pasta and rice with
brown or whole wheat varities. Put a limit on potatoes,
sweet corn and bananas. Try to avoid other starchy vegetables
and super sweet fruits.
A low carbohydrate
bodybuilding diet can be both low in saturated fats and sugars.
Balancing between them both is the key. Eating 5-6 small meals
per day will help a great deal. Engaging in a regular workout
plan that involves cardio and weight training will require more
calories. Make sure your choices are healthy.
