Healthy Weight Loss
Nearly 10 years ago obesity was serious enough in America
that 108 million Americans were overweight or worse yet, obese.
Today the problem continues to snowball out of control. Healthy
weight loss plans are far and few between in the dieting
industry. And sadly for many men and women it seems to be more
appealing to adopt a fast weight loss method. What's worse is
that they are popping up on a regular basis, claiming to lose
the excess bulge from the belly and so much more.
Obesity alone can cause numerous health problems. Typically
you can be looking down the barrel of developing:
 |
Diabetes |
 |
Depression |
 |
Stroke |
 |
Cancer |
 |
Arthritis |
 |
Fatigue |
 |
Headaches |
 |
Hypertension |
If you are currently overweight or obese, consider acting
sooner rather than later. Making the commitment to lose excess
pounds with a healthy weight loss plan should be your goal
today or if not, make it your goal to start tomorrow.
What Should A Healthy Weight
Loss Plan Consist Of?
There are many different views on what is healthy and what
is not. Generally you can opt for foods that are natural and
healthy such as fresh fruit and vegetables. Brown or grained
bread and lean cuts of meats. Some low dairy
options can be quite good for you too.
A healthy weight loss plan should not
consist of excessive diet pills or processed foods. For many of
us, the body finds it very difficult to remove the processed
ingredients. The bowels can stall, the liver has to work too
hard and sometimes you can even have bouts of depression!
Should I See My Doctor
First?
Absolutely, visiting your doctor is a must. If you already
have any of the above conditions you may need to take
additional dietary supplements which your doctor or physician
can recommend and monitor. You may also be required to have a
blood test to check your cholesterol levels or the condition of
your liver before you commence your new healthy weight loss
plan.
How Much Weight Will I
Lose?
Every person is different, therefore the amount of weight
you can lose using a healthy weight loss plan will also
vary. Aim to set realistic goals over a longer period of
time. If your goal is to lose 10 pounds in one week then you
may have problems! Fast weight loss won't last for the long
haul.
Admittedly you can lose the weight quite quickly with these
dramatic weight reduction plans but it will come back. And you
will more than likely put on more weight than you lost. In the
initial stages you will only lose water not fat. Unfortunately
these types of yo-yo diets set you up to fail from the start.
It is a horrible cycle for the dieter because it will continue
to happen with every fast weight loss plan they try. Eventually
they can literally double in size! Realistically you could
expect to lose around 1 kilogram per week or even less. Just
think of how much weight you will lose in the long term.
Healthy weight loss plans are so much easier and safer to
maintain.
Do I Have To Exercise During
A Healthy Weight Loss Plan?
Really, you don't have to do anything you don't want to do.
Of course I would recommend that you consult your doctor or
physician especially if you suffer from any back or neck pain.
Low impact to moderate exercise such as walking briskly may
just give you that "new lease on life". You can strengthen your
muscles and release stress. You don't need to get yourself a
personal trainer or expensive gym membership. Being more active
in general is better than no exercise at all. A little bit of
exercise may increase the results of your healthy weight loss
plan.
